Blackwood Blaze Inline Hockey Club

Junior Development

Introduction

Welcome to Blackwood Blaze Inline Hockey Club. Thanks for coming to try out our sport!

It’s easy to get hooked, while helping young players make friends, improve hand-eye coordination and stay fit. Inline hockey is the cousin to the better-known sport, Ice hockey. It’s also much cheaper and safer! In fact, it’s safer than many other common sports.

Blackwood Blaze is the oldest inline hockey club in existence in SA, and is based at the largest and only purpose-built rink in the state.

Our Junior Program

Blackwood Blaze offers a Junior development program on Saturdays 12:30-2:30pm, which includes an hour of training and a game, called the Mighty Pucks program. The season follows the school term dates, however newcomers may join in at any time over the year.  Gear can be provided. If you have your own that's great, but it is not essential.

Our coach is Adam Szuster. Adam has played for Australia at the Masters and Veterans World Cup in recent years. He also plays for SA at the Inline Hockey National Championships and coaches the 50's State team. Adam will be supported by Paul Holub.

If you have a friend that’s interested bring them along. It’s more fun to play with friends!

Fees

Newcomers receive 3 Come and Try sessions for only $5 (pay at the counter).

Filling in a simple waiver form allows you to be covered by insurance for these sessions.

After that, it’s generally $200 for 6 months of weekly sport, and includes insurance coverage with Skate SA, the peak national body for roller sports in Australia. It involves 2 payments:

Club Fee - $25 (yearly payment)

Season Fee - $120 (for a 6 month season)

Paid over the counter at the

Blackwood Recreation Centre.

A government sports voucher allows for a $100 discount on sports for all children of primary school age. Forms at the venue counter.
